Monterey Secondary College is located at 20 Silvertop St in the family-friendly suburb of Frankston North. Our school is nestled between two golf courses, surrounding the College grounds with a stunning backdrop of native plant and bird life.

About Frankston North

Frankston North is a quiet and suburban area that is becoming increasingly popular again with young families. Its peaceful surroundings and proximity to the beach, freeways, public transport, and amenities make it the perfect location for a thriving secondary school. The suburb itself has numerous sporting fields, clubs, a swimming pool, and local recreation and nature reserves which Monterey students experience regularly through local excursions.

Getting to Monterey

By car

Access to Frankston North is via Frankston-Dandenong Road and the school has ample parent parking and drop-off options.

Bus services

Ventura runs a dedicated bus service to the school across two routes, one from Carrum Station that travels to the school via Seaford and Carrum Downs and a second from Carrum Downs to the school. Information on these services, including route and timetable details can be found here. All services listed the Ventura website operate during the normal school term, and will require a Myki Card pre-loaded with credit prior to travel.

The school is 400m from the Eric Bell Reserve / Forest Dr bus stop serviced by the 833 Bus route from Frankston Station to Carrum Station via Carrum Downs. Busses on this route run at 30-minute intervals with multiple options for students to arrive and depart from school at the beginning and end of the day.

The 901 Bus service provides a more direct route from Carrum Downs and stops a short walk from the school on Frankston-Dandenong Road. Click here for a map of the bus route and walking directions to the school.

Train services

Monterey is a short walk from Kananook Railway Station on the Frankston Line connecting Monterey to the suburbs of Frankston, Seaford, Carrum and beyond. A map of the route from the station to the college can be found here

13 minute trip on the 833 bus connects students to Frankston Station should they need a wet-weather transport option.

Walking

Monterey is easily accessible by foot, with many students walking the quiet suburban streets of Frankston North to school. For students coming from Skye Rd, the Nat’s Track Walking Trail provides easy access, weaving through the beautiful native plant and birdlife provided by the neighbouring golf courses.

Cycling

Many students choose to ride to school and Monterey and its surrounding streets are well connected to local bike path networks. Students coming from Seaford or Carrum Downs, can access the Peninsula Link trail via the Pines Flora and Fauna reserve (click here for a map).
