At Monterey Secondary College, we proactively identify students who may need additional support with numeracy. By utilising a variety of assessment tools, we identify the specific needs of each student and develop a deep understanding of their mathematical thinking.
Program Features:
- Identification: When a student has gaps in their knowledge that may make mathematics challenging, we provide additional support through our Accelerated Numeracy program.
- Evidence-Based Framework: Our program targets key skills essential for continued success in mathematics, using proven, evidence-based methods.
- Small Group Learning: Students work in small groups with peers who share similar goals, engaging in hands-on activities designed to develop a deep understanding of relevant concepts.
- Mastery Learning Approach: The program employs a mastery learning approach, allowing students to practise a skill until they have mastered it before moving on to new topics.
