To apply for the program, students in Year 7, 8, and 9 in 2025 must attend a try-out session scheduled for Term 4. The confirmation of this date will be communicated through social media and email to all Monterey Secondary College students and enrolments. Following the try-out session, students will be notified of their acceptance.
Year 7 students for 2025 should submit a written reference from their primary school PE teacher, highlighting their sporting and academic achievements during Years 4-6, their attitude and behaviour, willingness to participate, and overall sportsmanship.
Students applying for Year 8 and Year 9 in 2025 should also include a written reference from their current PE or Sports Academy teacher. This reference should detail their sporting and academic achievements within and outside of school, including participation in representative teams and NGA squads, as well as their attitude, behaviour, willingness to participate, and sportsmanship.
