Monterey offers a suite of Engagement Programs designed to enhance students’ connections to school and their engagement with learning opportunities.
Our team consists of teachers, therapeutic workers, and support staff who are dedicated to improving students’ educational and wellbeing outcomes in a holistic and trauma-informed manner.
We support students enrolled at Monterey who may find mainstream classroom settings challenging. Our services include building social-emotional literacy and self-regulation skills, improving school attendance, and addressing school refusal or ‘school can’t’.
Our safe learning environment fosters connections among students, families/carers, and staff, working collaboratively with external supports to meet each student’s individual needs. Through trauma-informed positive educational practices, we help students build feelings of success and a readiness or desire to be at school.
We offer flexible and individualised programs, providing one-on-one or small group classes focused on executive functioning skills, goal setting, and building student capacity. We meet students where they are at and create individualised options to suit their needs.
